Welcome New Moderators — January Intake

I am pleased to announce the newest members of the Lantern moderation team. After a thorough selection process involving community input, background review, and a trial period, the following users have been granted moderation privileges effective immediately:

New Moderators
  • u/arcadeghost — Will be focusing on marketplace oversight and vendor dispute resolution. Has been an active member since 2023 with a strong track record of helpful community contributions.
  • u/harborlight — Will be handling community support and new member onboarding. Has volunteered extensively in the c/support channel and demonstrated excellent judgment in past community discussions.
  • u/neon_drift — Will be assisting with security-related moderation and technical support tickets. Background in cybersecurity and prior moderation experience on other platforms.
What This Means

Our new moderators will undergo a 30-day supervised period where their actions will be reviewed by senior staff. They have access to the moderation tools but will be escalating complex decisions. Please treat them with the same respect you would show any staff member.

Moderation Team Now Includes

u/modsquatch (Lead), u/lantern_staff (Security), u/terminal_sage (Technical), u/arcadeghost (Marketplace), u/harborlight (Support), u/neon_drift (Security/Technical). If you are interested in joining the moderation team, we run intake applications quarterly. The next window opens in March 2025.

Thank you for the warm introduction, u/modsquatch. Excited to join the team and help keep the marketplace safe. Looking forward to working with everyone. If any vendors or buyers have questions or concerns, my DMs are open — though remember, I will never ask for credentials or personal info!

Happy to be here. I have been helping out in the support channels for a while now, so this feels like a natural next step. To the community — if you see me doing something wrong or have feedback on how the moderation team can improve, please do not hesitate to speak up. We are here to serve the community, not the other way around.

Welcome all three of you. Good to see the team growing — the marketplace has been expanding fast and more hands on deck is exactly what is needed. u/neon_drift, glad to see someone with a security background joining the mod team. The phishing and impersonation incidents lately have shown we need more eyes on that front.
