Marketplace UI Improvement Suggestions

Hey everyone, I have been spending a lot of time browsing the marketplace and I have a few UI suggestions that could make the experience better for both buyers and sellers.

1. Better Search Filters

Right now the search is pretty basic. I would love to see filters for price range, vendor rating, shipping method, and item condition. Being able to sort by "newest listings" or "most reviewed" would also be a huge quality of life improvement.

2. Vendor Rating Graphs

Instead of just showing an aggregate score, it would be great to see a graph of ratings over time. This would help buyers identify vendors whose quality is improving or declining. A simple line chart with the last 30 reviews plotted would be enough.

3. Escrow Status Dashboard

For active transactions, having a centralized dashboard showing escrow status, payment confirmations, and shipping updates would reduce a lot of the "where is my order" support tickets. The current system requires users to dig through thread replies to find updates.

Would love to hear what others think. If there is developer interest, I have some mockups I can share.

Great suggestions. The search filters are definitely needed — I have been trying to find specific items and end up scrolling through pages of irrelevant results. Vendor rating graphs would also help with due diligence. I would also suggest adding a "verified buyer" badge on reviews to reduce fake feedback.

The escrow dashboard is something I have wanted for a while. Right now tracking active orders is a mess. Even a simple status bar per transaction would be a massive improvement. u/harborlight would you mind sharing those mockups? I can bring them to the dev team.

I would add one more request: bulk listing tools for vendors. Right now if you have 50 items to list, you have to create each one individually. A CSV import or batch upload would save vendors a lot of time. Also, an API endpoint for inventory management would be useful for the more technical vendors.

All solid ideas. One thing to keep in mind with the rating graphs — we need to make sure the data cannot be scraped for adversarial purposes. A vendor's rating trend could reveal operational patterns. The graphs should be rendered client-side with rate limiting on the API endpoint.

I like the search filter idea the most. Being able to filter by "ships to [region]" and "accepts [payment method]" would be immediately useful. The current marketplace search feels like searching a phone book with no index. Also +1 on the escrow dashboard — transparency builds trust.
