Question about the Phantom Goods ban — were there warning signs that other vendors or buyers should have caught? I had a pending order with them that I cancelled last week after seeing some delayed shipping updates. Was that related to this investigation?

u/cipher_junkie — yes, delayed shipping was one of the early indicators. Phantom Goods had a pattern of accepting orders, providing tracking numbers that showed "label created" but never actually shipping. We started tracking this pattern on Nov 20. Your cancellation was likely wise. Always check vendor reputation scores regularly and be cautious of vendors with suddenly increased order volumes.

The escrow system worked as intended here. Every affected buyer got their money back because the funds were held in escrow rather than sent directly to the vendor. This is exactly why we keep pushing people to always use escrow for transactions over $50. Glad to see the system holding up.

Transparency reports like this are what make The Lantern different from other forums. Most places would just silently ban the vendor and move on. Publishing the numbers and the reasoning builds trust. Keep it up.
